Bushra Amiwala is a Pakistani-American college student, at DePaul University, and as of 2020 she is the youngest Muslim elected official in the United States. Bushra was a Democratic candidate for the Cook County Board of Commissioners in the 2018 Illinois Primary Election.
Bushra now travels around the country sharing her story in hopes to inspire others to take action! Her story has been featured in Time Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Glamour Mag, Politico, Now This News, NBC News among many others. She was named Glamour Magazine’s College Woman of the Year for her first campaign though she lost… she is a very active leader in the new social media Club House.
